BLUE BOOKS

This series of bound volumes 1834 - 1940 are of particular interest to genealogists as they have the names of civil officers, pensioners, members of parliament, ministers of the Established Church, Foreign Consuls and population statistics. Some of the documents are in manuscript form but the majority of them are printed. The records have been microfilmed and are available for public use. These documents were originally held by the Colonial Secretary's Office which became the Cabinet Office in 1964. They were deposited into the Archives in the 1970s.
