LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND COMMISSIONER'S REPORT

During the course of daily government business records pertaining to births, death and marriages were generated by the Commissioner's Office in the Family Islands. These records cover areas such as Abaco, Andros, Bimini, Cat Island, Eleuthera, Inagua, Mayaguana, Long Island, Ragged Island, Rum Cay and San Salvador. They span the period 1836 - 1973 and include some church records. They were deposited in the Archives in early 1970s and 1980s. These records are not on microfilm and can only be seen with the permission of the supervisor of the Research Room. Current records can be found in the various Family Island Commissioner's Office.
