Deposited by the Registrar General's Department the naturalization records span the period 1861 - 1920. These records are not a continuous series. In addition, Naturalization Papers are also a part of the Colonial Secretary deposit and cover the 1920s and 1930s. Before the introduction of Ministerial Government, the Governor and the Executive Council made decisions on naturalization.
