RECORDS:

Archives take all forms including the traditional manuscript, loose papers, bound volumes, microforms, sound recordings, still photographs, maps, video tapes and electronic records. Each record is unique and cannot be replaced. The Department of Archives is very aware of its duty to preserve and secure the archival materials in its care. Archival records cannot be borrowed and researchers are not allowed into the repository in which the records are stored. Records can only be consulted in the Research Room.

Please note that some original records may not be available for consultation due to various restrictions. In instances where duplicates exist, in the form of photocopies or microfilm, researchers are required to consult these rather than the original record.

Duplication of government records is at the discretion of the Research Room Supervisor. Published and unpublished works are subject to the Copyright Act.
